Dr. Suresh Prasad, MD has practiced medicine for over 25 years in the Permian Basin and remains both inquisitive and patient-focused. He was born in India and attended Patna Medical College and Hospital. While there, he was awarded the “Shifton Gold Medal” for securing the highest rank in General Medicine. After finishing medical school, Dr. Prasad enrolled in the Edgewater Medical Center Residency Program in Chicago, IL for his Internship and Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Odessa, TX for his Residency in Internal Medicine. Upon completing his residency programs, he began working in Monahans in 1999. Next, Dr. Prasad opened his own practice in 2004, Permian Internal Medicine Associates, where he currently is the president and holds ABIM Board certifications in internal medicine, sleep Medicine and ABOM certification Obesity Medicine. and NCQA certified, Diabetes Physician Recognition Program (DPRP). He also serves as the medical director at Odessa Sleep Associates. Further, Dr. Prasad is also the co¬founder of premier research group, the Permian Research Foundation (PRF), which has brought west Texas to the forefront of Medical Research. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and is involved in teaching residents, medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practioner students. He has received “Bridge to Excellence physician ( BTE) ” Recognition in diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD and cardiac care, the On-Time Doctor Award (2020, 2018, 2014),Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011), Patients' Choice Award (2020, 2018, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011) from Vitals, TTUHSC School of Medicine “Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Outreach,” and Community Statesman Heritage Foundation Award in Health and Science for 2012. He was elected for Fellowship by American College of Physician (FACP) in 2010 as well. He is Voted BEST physician in Weight Loss category in 2020 and 2021, Sleep category in 2022 and one of the best Physician (overall) and Health clinic in 2020, 2021,and 2022 by the Reader's Choice survey by Odessa American.
Dr. Kalpana Prasad, MD has been in the Permian Basin practicing medicine for over 20 years and is best known for her excellent bedside manner and ability to communicate with her patients in a thorough and effective manner. She was born in India where she went to Patna Medical College and Hospital. She attended the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Internal Medicine Residency Program in Odessa, TX. Dr. Kalpana Prasad began working in Monahans in 2002 after completing her residency program. In 2005, she joined Permian Internal Medicine Associates. Dr. Kalpana Prasad also is the co¬founder of Permian Research Foundation. She is involved in teaching residents, medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practioner students and is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the department of internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Dr. Kalpana Prasad received the Patients' Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2017, 2014, 2012), On-Time Doctor Award (2018) from Vitalsand “Bridges to Excellence (BTE)” Recognition in diabetes, cardiac care, hypertension, and asthma. After graduating from Lee High School in her hometown, Marlene attended Midland College where she was a member and treasurer of the Students in Philanthropy organization. During her free time, she
worked at a local gym as a personal trainer after receiving her certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After graduating with an associate degree from MC she transferred to
Texas Tech University. During her journey as a student in Lubbock, TX, she volunteered through Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the Hispanic Honor Society. She also made time to work and help as a
certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Carillon Senior Living. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Cum Laude, Marlene decided to move back to Midland to be with her family. As she prepared
for the process of applying and interviewing for graduate school, she continued gaining clinical experience as a CNA at a gynecology clinic. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Physician
Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland in August 2020 and accepted a position where she earned experience in women’s health and primary care. Having a passion
for primary care and a high interest in internal medicine, Marlene is excited to be serving patients of west Texas by being a part of the healthcare team and family at Permian Internal Medicine Associates.
Outside of work she enjoys working out, hiking and spending time with her family.
Grace was born and raised in Odessa, TX. She moved to Temple, Texas after high school and received her Certificate of Surgical Technology from Temple College. At Temple College she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She was elected president of the Surgical Technology club and was the elected graduation speaker. She completed her surgical training at Baylor Scott and White hospital. She returned home to work at Medical Center Hospital for 11 years in the main operating room. She assisted on elective and trauma surgeries. At the same time, she was active in the community and participated in Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Toys for Tots and the Women’s Crisis Center of Odessa. She also was a member of the Mercy Trips Healthcare Outreach Medical Team and traveled to Uganda, Africa twice to assist on pro bono surgeries. While working and taking trauma call at MCH, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. At UTPB she was elected to the Student Senate and she was placed on the dean’s list for her academic achievements. With a desire to have more of a greater impact in providing patient care she applied and was accepted into the Texas Tech Physician Assistant program. She graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In the PA program her and her classmates campaigned for AIDS, autism and breast cancer awareness. She is certified by the NCCPA and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. Grace and her husband Luis Andrade, along with their daughters Laurel & Isabella are members of the church of Christ. Grace is driven by the bonds she builds with patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment she holds in keeping them healthy and well.
Roxana Nieto, MPAS, PA-C was born and raised in Midland, TX. She attended Lee High School where she was a part of the Dixie Doll Drill Team. She also volunteered at Medical Center Hospital for several years learning multiple aspects of the medical field and further solidifying her interest in health care. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she graduated Cum Laudewith a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and a minor in Sociology. As a student she interned at the Institute for Health Disparities conducting Hep C and HIV testing as well as educating students on the prevention of risky behavior. Additionally, she was a member of Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity and held multiple officer positions. After graduating she joined the prevention team at the Crisis Center of West Texas where she brought awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault. Miss Nieto also volunteered at various local entities including SHARE and Children’s Rehab.It has been Roxana’s lifelong goal to serve the community as a health care professional therefore she pursued her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland, TX. While pursuing her career she was elected student liaison for the Permian Basin Physician Assistant Society. She graduated with her Masters degree in August 2020. She is very excited to bring quality care to the people of the Permian Basin. On her leisure time she enjoys working out, baking, and spending time with her dog Sully.
